Getting Started
A beginner-friendly introduction to the project — what it is, how to check your device, and exactly where to go next.
What is Trollas. Inc. OS
Trollas. Inc. OS is a free and open-source Android operating system based on LineageOS. It is built by the community, for everyone — designed to be fast, private, and fully customizable.
- Open source — the entire codebase is transparent and available for anyone to inspect, audit, or contribute to.
- Privacy-first — your device and your data stay firmly under your control, with no tracking or unnecessary data collection.
- Smooth and fast — carefully optimized for fluid performance on every supported device, without unnecessary bloat.
- Customizable — make Android truly yours with deep theming, options, and a growing set of features.
- OTA updates — receive security patches and new features wirelessly, directly to your device.
Trollas. Inc. OS will always be free to download and use. There are no accounts to create, no licenses to buy, and no strings attached.
Check your device support
Not every Android device can run Trollas. Inc. OS. Your first step is to confirm that your phone is on the supported list — and to find its codename, which you will need later.
- Open the Supported Devices section and look for your phone's marketing name (e.g. "Xiaomi Redmi Note 8").
- Note the codename shown in the device card (e.g. "Ginkgo"). You will need this when downloading the correct ROM build.
- Check the status pill on the device card. "Published" means builds are ready to download.
Manufacturers use different names in different regions. The codename is the only reliable way to match a device to the correct ROM. Always double-check this before downloading.
New devices are added regularly. If yours is not supported yet, watch the GitHub repository for announcements, or join the community to request support.
Gather the essentials
Before you start, get these things in order. Having everything ready means the flashing process goes smoothly, start to finish.
A device from the supported list, with at least 50% battery charge.
Windows, macOS, or Linux with a working USB port.
A cable that can transfer data, not just charge.
ADB and Fastboot installed. Download them from the official site .

The first installation takes about 30–40 minutes. Read through the full guide before you begin.
Back up your data
Installing Trollas. Inc. OS involves unlocking the bootloader and performing a factory reset — both of which wipe all data on your device. A backup is essential.
Photos, messages, apps, contacts, and settings stored on the device will be permanently removed during installation. Make sure you have a complete backup before you proceed.
- Cloud backup — use your Google account or another cloud service to back up photos, contacts, and documents.
- Local backup — copy important files to your computer or an SD card using a USB cable.
- Export app data — some apps have a built-in backup/export feature. Use it before you wipe the device.
- Verify ADB works — run the following command to confirm your computer can communicate with the device.
adb devices
You should see your device's serial number in the output. If the list is empty, check that USB debugging is enabled on the device and try a different USB cable or port.
Follow the Installation Guide
With your data backed up and your essentials ready, it is time to install. The Installation Guide walks through every step in detail — from enabling Developer Options and unlocking the bootloader to flashing the ROM and completing first boot.
- Read the full guide first — go through every step before touching your device.
- Keep it open — follow along step by step while you work.
- Don't rush — if something is unclear, stop and ask for help rather than guessing.
Bootloader unlocking, downloading the right files, entering recovery, sideloading the ROM, and troubleshooting — all step by step with copy-paste commands.

Common questions
Where do I report bugs or request features?
Open an issue on the GitHub repository . Include your device codename, the ROM version, and a clear description of the problem or suggestion.
Can I go back to my stock ROM?
Yes. You can flash the manufacturer's official firmware back onto your device using the same fastboot or recovery tools. Check your manufacturer's support pages for the stock firmware download and instructions.
How do OTA updates work?
When a new build is available, you will see a notification. You can also check manually under Settings → System → System update. OTA updates are incremental, safe, and keep your data intact.
Will installing void my warranty?
Unlocking the bootloader and installing a custom operating system typically voids the manufacturer's warranty. This is an inherent part of the process — proceed only if you are comfortable with that.
